Meditation: Create a Time and Space Just for you

Do you ever feel the need for peace and serenity? Do you take time out of your busy day to reflect on your life and the way you live it?

By setting aside a few moments each day to explore your unconscious mind, you will improve the quality of your day.

It can sometimes be difficult to find time for meditation. In my own life, I had to make meditation my first priority in the morning in order to work it into my schedule. As soon as I wake up, I pile pillows in back of myself in bed and meditate right there—that way, I always have time for it. I can’t imagine starting a day without it.

Some people are quite creative in working meditation into their lives. Creating a quiet space can sometimes be as much of a hurdle as creating time. You could reserve a corner in a room, and make sure that it remains clean and uncluttered so that it is always ready for you. A closet large enough to sit in could become a peaceful meditation hideaway for you, complete with comfortable pillow and decorations. A secluded corner of a garden would also work. Many of those who meditate like to have their personal sacred objects around them—a beloved picture, a favorite candle, a beautiful rug. No matter what appeals to you, you must decide to make room for meditation, every day.

There are many different methods of meditation. Explore all the possibilities and find one that works for you. Every meditation’s objective is to go into the silence. Multiple resources exist—you could consult magazines, books, web sites, religious organizations, seminars, workshops, and meditation/yoga centers. You could also try instructional videos or CDs, which provide guided meditations. Following is a short list of several methods of meditation: Some may surprise you, but meditation is more a matter of what you bring to the practice—patience and a desire to silence the mind—than of what the practice entails.

  • Focus on the petals of a flower
  • Drink a cup of tea on your patio or in your garden
  • Walk
  • Do yoga
  • Wax your car

A meditation can be anything which takes you into silence, both inner and outer, and clears your mind of all thoughts. Try as many methods as you need until you find one—or more—that work for you, and proceed on your journey to the life of your dreams.

To Having It All!

  1. Hey John,

I agree meditating first thing in a morning is a great way to start the day and to really focus the mind. I try to meditate, visualise and recite affirmations 3 times a day. This is really helping me to achieve my goals in life and business.

  7. Hi, for a while now I’ve been toying with meditation, however just recently I have started to take it more seriously, I will be taking a course in TM and currently I am undergoing the holosync course, so I’m looking forward to this journey, which is the rest of my life. I think going into silence and finding time for yourself may be one of the most benificial things you will ever too. You are sending a powerful neourological message to the brain, you are affirming to yourself that you are important and you deserve your time and space, this will reflect in your outer world.

  9. I also like to meditate first thing in the morning. I love the period before the sun has fully risen – it’s a time of calmness and anticipation.

  13. personally, walking is what gets the blood flowing as the hands move with the opposite leg. Luckily I have a dog that doesnt give me a day off.

  14. Thank you John for sharing this. I also meditate first thing, to start my day and last thing to end my day. It declutters my mind and by doing a little Qigong breathing clears blocked energy. I teach this to my clients too. Again John thank you

“The Answer” has really changed my life. Everyone around me day to day can see a difference. That is so exciting!

I started meditating everyday becuase you recomend it in the book, along with visions and then affirmations.

At first, it was hard to meditate and be still for just 5 mins. That was a month ago. Now anything less than 10 mins seems to fly by! I’ve found that closing my eyes, sitting up right, with music playing (ranging from new age, ambient to soundtrack scores) works best for me. I think about my visions and anything that makes me happy. Sometimes if I’m having a hard time getting into it, I’ll look at my screensaver on my computer, which is set to scroll through all of my “vision board” pictures on my computer.

Thanks for everything John! You have really made a HUGE difference in my life! =D

  29. Great subject…
IT’S a great way of relaxing & getting all you want in life.
    ALSO
Petting your dog, doing crafts etc…
    ANOTHER WAY!
WHILE your in the shower. Before you wash your body. Visualize the water from the shower head coming down your body. Starting at the top of your head going down your entire body to your toes.
THIS washes/releases all negativity in your body. See & feel all NEGATIVITY going down the drain.
Try it. You’ll feel light & refreshed.

I love to read, learn all I can, but mostly share what I know with others.

SO, John if you don’t mind, I’d love to share with everyone what I feel is a really helpful CD.

It’s called “Getting In The Gap” By: Dr. Wayne Dyer.
It deals with chanting & saying Lords Prayer.
Doing this helps put your chakras in place.

According to Edgar Cayce, he explains all about this in one of his books.

***But, One most important thing I’ve learned about meditating****
***YOU MUST first surround your self with a GOLDEN or WHITE LIGHT of PROTECTION coming down from heaven.
*** Visulize it covering your whole body as if your in a bubble.***
    WHY!
It keeps anything negative coming in while your in your own world of meditation!

Blessings to all. I hope it helps you by me putting my 2 cents worth in! 🙂
