How to Become Fulfilled and Rich

In Getting Rich Your Own Way, Srully Blotnick points to a study in which 1,500 young people were divided into two groups.  Group A consisted of people who were embarking on a career for the money.  Group B consisted of people who chose their career because that’s what they loved to do.  The number of people in Group A outnumbered the people in Group B by a margin of 5-1.

Researchers followed these two groups for 20 years.  At the end of 20 years, 101 of 1,500 participants were millionaires.  However, the amazing thing is that all but one of the millionaires came from Group B.  Only 1 out of 1,250 people from Group A became wealthy, even though all of them made money pursuing their primary career objective.  Yet 100 of the 250 from Group B became wealthy by simply pursuing what made them happy.

If you are not trading your life for what you truly love, it may be time for a change.

  17. Like so many others, I once considered fulfilment and riches, to be measured simply in terms of financial success. It is sadly an indictment on our society, when we determine success according to the narrow terms of a monetary reward. So many of us hold solidly, to those now anachronistic beliefs, that abundance in our lives can only be gauged, in terms of money and material goods.

I concede that it is a fundamental aspect of abundance: It is however, not the entire story. First and foremost, you have to love what you do – this therefore means, you’re doing what you love. Srully Blotnick’s study highlights this in wonderful and graphic terms. Fulfilment and riches begin when you are happy and content in the space you occupy NOW. If not, put plans in place, to move to that space.

We’ve all been stuck in a job we’ve not liked. This has no doubt impacted on various areas of our lives. It can make us grumpy and unfulfilled, fuelling those feelings of hopelessness. I’ve had several jobs – many I initially enjoyed, but with which I soon became quite disillusioned. Others, I took out of necessity and never liked them at all. It was not until I found a job where I discovered true inner joy – that feeling of contentment which only comes from doing something which lights the fire within, which I knew I was on the right path. I’m in that place – right here, right now.

Every day might not be a joy; however, every day brings a degree of joy, happiness and contentment to my existence. Because I love what I do and believe I am on the right track, I can let go of those feelings of discontent, and hitch my wagon to the shooting star of personal fulfilment.

Whilst the two are linked, I don’t believe they are inter-reliant. Doing what you love, brings of itself those true feelings of contentment. That is a true richness which money can’t buy. In this place, there is more joy than sadness and the feelings of accomplishment begin to crowd every day. As long as you consider the financial rewards as a bonus and do not rely on them to fulfil, you will not be disappointed.

Every day I tell myself that my life is becoming a more incredible place to be, overflowing with abundant joy, love and happiness, optimum health, longevity, success and unbridled abundance. I begin the day with gratitude for what I have and never regret, for what I do not. Happiness comes from within and joy is a measurement of those feelings of contentment.

When you begin to like, love, respect and believe in yourself, you can easily separate your feelings and begin to get in tune with how you feel. Never say you can’t – know beyond a shadow of a doubt, whatever you want, you can have as long as you continue to ask for it, through your results-driven actions and the solid plan of action.

Always remember that wealth covers ALL aspects of your life. It’s not simply a measure of financial wellbeing. There are many who have financial wealth, but who are emotional castaways. Total wealth is something for which we should all be striving. It’s a point of total balance: A place where contentment becomes a part of everyday life.

If you are struggling each day with what you have, as opposed to what you want you must use your powers of visualisation and create what you want in your mind’s eye. If you can’t see it, then you’ll have no hope of believing it. Use broad brush strokes in vivid colour on your canvas. See what you want: Feel and taste it every day. Know beyond question that it is your life and you are living it NOW!

The more you practise this exercise, the easier and more real it becomes in your life. If you can dream something, then you can create it. The only blocks to success are fear and doubt: Fear of what has gone before (and which might be repeated) and doubt of what is to come (and your ability to manifest it). Believe in yourself and your wonderful life. Build a network of positive thought and action. Don’t allow negativity to crowd your life. Every moment is precious so fill it with good, wholesome thoughts, fuelled by your dreams of success, abundance and fulfilment and propelled by your solid plan of action. Be persistent.

I look forward to reading the stories of incredible success and empowerment.

I wish all readers a very happy, successful and fulfilled future. Believe in yourself and all things are possible.

    Regards,

    Kieran

  19. In order to truly be fulfilled we need both monetary and psychic income- when we love our job/career/vocation and we get paid our true worth- that my friends is heavenly!

  21. Coming out of my comfort zone to start my own business was very difficult. Especially when my concept of business is a bit abstract. The one thing that kept me going when things were getting scary and uncomfortable that was my passion for the work that I have chosen to do. I now wake up everyday feeling excited and eager. I know that I am already a success. I can’t wait till I am at that place financially to truly live my dreams, and travel the world with my wife and my dogs.

Thank you for all that you do John I am truly grateful for this new forum. I am also grateful to be a member of One Coach Business Mastery Program. You have given me a place to go and recharge my confidence. I look forward to meeting you in October.
